I have an iPod flash. I have files on my computer that I want to place on my iPod flash. iTunes seems to be blocking my access to the iPod flash. I insert the flash and I can see it as a drive under My Computer, I can read and write files to it, but then iTunes comes up and I lose access to the drive. Even after shutting iTunes, I cannot access the drive. Anyone have an idea of how to get around this short of uninstalling iTunes?

if you want to get in full control of YOUR iPod try alternative software designed by folks who care about userfriendliness rather than user control, if you want to stick to iTunes, live with the consequences :-)
