Cannot send email Outlook

Specs: xp, Pentium IV
I have read almost every thread out there about this problem, and I just cannot find the solution.

I have outlook, not outlook express.

I have comcast mail. I was receiving and sending emails fine until a month ago.

I can receive emails with no problem.

I cannot send emails.

I have tried disabling firewalls (symantec and xp), I have checked the port (25), I have checked the smtp: (same as the pop3 incoming). Everything looks just as it did before...

I have even created a new account under a different incoming/outgoing mail server (my school) and I was able to send and receive emails just fine. But not with the comcast account.

I have contacted comcast and they said their service works fine. And they walked me through all the steps above and just said that they had no idea. Neither do I.

while you MUST not change the incoming server, try the other SMTP server, that is working for you.

I can use my school's smtp even if my email address is not from the school?

Have you tried authenticating your SMTP server?

This is very similar to what I am experiencing using Outlook Express on Comcast. We use one computer in our home and there are about 4 different email accounts on Comcast. While I can receive emails, I cannot send! The funny thing is that with the same client install, the other 3 members of my family can send AND receive just fine!

I have spoken with Comcast, but they say the email never makes it to their SMTP server! Where could it have gone!

Help Please!

I am in MN and the same thing is going on in my home. We've 4 computers. 2 pcs and 2 apples. All are experiencing the same "cannot send email" Smtp issue. IT'S UNBELIEVABLE that comcast cannot figure this out~! I've been on live help, and nothing. You wouldn't believe how many times they keep telling me to follow the setup instructions. I set up my accounts 3 months ago when the company took over time warners territory! Duh! Just to humor them and myself, I reset all of my emails. NOTHING changed.
Sorry for the rant. You know how annoying this is... Like you, I've got some important things to take care of and this really irritates me.
Any help that you might have, please share. If I get it figured out, I will post back.
