Cannot see drive d content

I tried to install some software on my HP Pavilion Notebook. After I inserted the CD in the cd-drive and clicked drive D on the 'My Computer' screen, I couldn't see any content on drive D. I inserted the software CD in my other notebook and was able to see content.

Does the drive show as an error in the device manager? If it does check this link.

Drive D is reserved by HP for recovery operations. If you install programs on drive D partition you will no longer have the ability to recover windows.
