Hi to all,
I could hibernate my laptop and resume without any problem, until I reshuffled my USB hubs to accommodate a new USB mass storage.
Now, I can hibernate my PC, but when I want to wake it up, it stops after the white progression bar. I got one time a BSOD screen, which did not tell me much.
I reorganized my hard disk, but it did not help.
Any idea welcome ! thanks in advance

Have you tried undo what you reshuffled with your USB hubs and do without the USB mass storage?

Hi Xpuser,
I believe I have not much choice...unless some one has a tremendously sharp idea...
The problem is that I was short of plugs with the previous configuration.

No, I mean to undo everything for the time being just to see if your laptop wake up with no problem.

I have owned nothing but laptops for the last 10 years... all different kinds, and I have come to one conclusion... hibernation software is and always has been shotty at best. There were gliches and foul ups my IBM, Toshiba, HP, yadda, yadda.
Today I run an HP Pavilion and DO NOT USE hibernation... A re-start is just as easy anyway.

blackbill comment is a testimony as to why I personally avoid hibernate and standby. The following links tells why.
Hard disk may become corrupted when entering standby or hibernation.

Hi to all,
Many thanks for your kind messages. It's really nice of you to take the care.
I think I found the problem. I tested hibernation starting from the bare notebook and adding peripherals piece by piece.
The outcome is the following : hibernation cannot be woken up as soon as I connect my ADSL modem (nearly 4 years old), whatever the configuation (direct plugging or via a hub).
The modem is OK for internet work, but clearly it should have some problem.
Still many thanks to all - Claude
