"Made a computer back up to C drive of computer a few months ago"

There are certain locations you cannot save backups to with Windows Backup, and the C: drive is one of them according to Microsoft. The C: drive will not be available as a destination for the backup when you use Windows Backup, so I don't know how you managed to save it there.

What you see in the wizard is the synopsis of the files,. That doesn't mean the files are in the backup set.

Some backup programs split the files into many part. You may have to find or otherwise make available all the parts of the backup.
