cannot read e-mails in outlook

I am able to download my messages into outlook express 2000, but when I try to read them, it is all gray, I cannot read the messages, I called my ISP and all is fine with the setting according to them, but it is not working!! Pleas help

what were you using before the 2000 version of OE? why are you using such an old version of OE? if you are running xp why aren't you using that version? Odds are that old of an OE can't properly display 'tis the season to be of good cheer. Wishing one and all happy times with family and friends.
