I use to be able to play music CDs on my PC. Now I can't. I've tried winamp, audio station. media player 5, and media player 9. I can play all sorts of other audio and video file but if the file has an extension of .cda it won't play even if it's on my hard drive. I get different messages or no message with the different app.

The file extention .cda is what u would find on a music cd. They are just 'links' to the wav file.
If u just copy a .cda to ur hard drive, all u will get is a 44kb link file, not the wav. For that u need a ripping prog.
Don't know if that's what u have been trying, but it would explain it !!

I have all the files checked in the file tab under tool. But Media player still will not play the audio CD. I have just installed a CD burner and Nero media player will play CD. I would like to get Windows media player to work. The message I get is "Windows Media Player cannot find the specified file. Be sure the path is typed correctly. If it is, the file does not exist at the specified location, or the computer where the file is stored is offline." If anyone has more ideas let me know.
