OK...I have a Windows XP client computer on my home network that i cannot "PING" from any computer on the network. I am running a Windows 2000 server system with Exchange 5.5 running on the server. When I use the XP client, I can access my mail, I can view the Internet, I can search for files on the server, the XP machine has an IP address using DHCP...but I cannot get anyone of my other computers to PING the XP machine...Help

Assuming you have a firewall, on the computer you cannot ping, you'd have to create a firewall rule to permit incoming ICMP (type 8/echo request) and create an outbound rule permitting ICMP (type 0/echo reply). This will allow you to ping that computer and get a response.
Type 8 = ping Type 0 = response to a ping
0
Response Number 2

It sounds like the XP system has the XP firewall enabled. It will not let other systems ping to it. Check the settings for your network connection and see if that is what happened. The firewall is usually set by default when you run the network wizard.
