Cannot open secure webpages!

Suddenly I can't view any site that has the beginning as https:// .. This is really annoying, as I do all of my banking/e-mail/ebay/paypal etc. from this computer and now I can't do anything! I just says connection was refused, every time. Please help.

Your post does not include the Browser name and version you have problem with. Assuming you are using Internet Explorer SP1 and you system has all required updates, my suggestion would be to delete the Browser's cache:
From the Tools menu: choose Internet Options… a window appears in the "Temporary Internet Files" section click the Delete Files… button
I will also check the Firewalls you have. Remember WinXP SP2 has Firewall on by default. M

Hi,
I had this problem and posted it on this site but couldn't find resolution to the problem. In the end i found out that it was actually Norton Antivirus 2005 stopping me from getting on these sites. As soon as i uninstalled it i was able to access all secure sites again.
If you are running Norton, try uninstalling it completely using the remove tool and then should you wish to re-install, do so.
