Just this morning my computer cannot detect my DVD rom drive NOR my cd Rom drive. When I go to "My computer", these drives are not even present. I can open my dvd drive, but my cd drive refuses to open. Please help!
switch them with the cables plugged into your hdd.

When you boot, go into the BIOS. If they are listed, it is a Windows problem and a Restore or Repair may work.
If they are not listed in the BIOS, it is a hardware problem (IDE cable, power cable or your IDE controller- assuming the non-working drives are on the same channel. It could also be a shorted-out drive on that IDE channel).
