I wanted to reinstall windows xp clean to my computer. I deleted the partition using a win98 boot disk, but I cannot now get the xp cd to run. I downloaded the 6 xp boot disks, but when i try to use them it can't find biosinfo.inf. Help!!

Have you created a new primary DOS Partition after deleting the existing partition? It should have ask you to reboot with the Boot Disk still in Floppy and format with FAT32. If so and the CD-ROM is not working you need to boot again with the WIN98 boot disk and choose "With CD-ROM Support”. Now the CD-ROM will work and you can install XP by opening your CD-ROM with the XP Disk inserted, change to i386 folder, type winnt and hit enter. But before you do this, you must (should) run "smartdrv.exe" otherwise it will take several hours to copy all the Install Files to the Hard drive before XP Setup can do the installation. Your other chance is to boot from the XP-Install CD and follow the setup instructions. I prefer the first method.
