My son recently had an accident with his Tiny 1100 laptop, it fell, but seemed not to be damaged,(while in use). All was well for a few days but now when turned on it shows the message "CANNOT LOAD OPERATING SYSTEM".(I think). Can anyone please advise me what to do.

'Probably' a dead hard drive. Download a diagnostic from the hard drive manufacturers web site.

The hard drive probably died as a result of the fall. Can you boot from a boot disk?

I havn`t actually seen my son yet, since accident,as he lives away from home. Will see him later this week and try to boot from disk. If it boots from disk can I run a repair/checkdisk or is the hard drive possibly needing replacing.

I think it is a virus that deletes windows sytems files. I had the same problem with 3 laptops in my company. What I did was reinstall windows, and some drivers and programs. If you have any problem let me know.
