Status: Unsuccessfuly trying to install Photoshop CS (discs are borrowed but original, US version) on a German language XP home system.
Error: Everytime after it starts installing it stops and gives me the same message:Component: PDF Support for Asian Languages
File Group: Font Base
File: C:\Programme\GemeinsameDateien\Adobe\Fonts\
Error: Die Syntax fur den dateinamen, verzeichnisnamen oder die datenträgerbezeichnung ist falsch.
Setup will be aborted.(this translates to: "the syntax for data names, directory names or data type is wrong").
Any ideas?
The funny thing is that Illustrator installed flawlessly on the first try from the same cd.
Thanks.Peace.

You say it installed from the same cd? HMMMMMM.......You'll get no symapathy from anyone in here for using a bootleg. I know it's an expensive arse program but you should consider your copy as having problems. A "copy" of original will not work with CS because the settings are encrypted on the original and cannot be coppied. Get an original.
ASUS P5GD1
P-4 3.4 SOCKET 775

ABIT RX600SE 256MB PCI-E

IT'S RUNNING!
Thanks anyway.Just for the record, the problem was the following: My main hard drive is G:\ and not C:\
A guy at adobe tech support pointed me to the solution.See here: click
…by the way the discs ARE original, they have the serial numbers printed on a label on the back side of the CD case and everything. (It’s the box with the flower with the rose in it).
I’m soooooooo sorry, I meant to say “same cd SET”.My my happy_crappy aren't we Judgey wudgey!
Toodles!
Peace.
