My flash player no longer works. So I went to adobe to update and/or re-install and always get a 'successful install' message. Except, it doesn't work. So this morning I followed Adobe's recommendation: remove the flash player on my system with the software they provide, restart the computer and re-install.

The problem now is that I get an error message: Windows found a problem with this file : swflash.cab (unknown publisher)

I've tried it several times and everytime I get the yellow bar on top prompting to install activeX controls. I say yes and receive the above message. What else can I do?

Thanks for your help.

You're not alone. M$ is so numbed they don't know how to resolve this type of problem.

Your only option is to revert back to IE6. Read this thread to find comfort in knowing that no fix is coming any time. M$ is too distracted to care about anything else except to damage-control Vista and its flaw.

Actually, I should have mentioned that I had this problem with IE6. thought it would be resolved by upgrading to IE7 and obviously it did not. So I'm not sure what good it would do to revert back to IE6.
I don't mind trying, but I need some steps on how to do it. Can you help?

THIS is what you will get if you push out inferior product. Merry Xmas Bill. All the best.
