Cannot get computer to boot up

OS: Windows xp
CPU/Ram: 512
Product: Emachines / W3050

When I turn my computer on, it will go to the screen that has the "big E" and boot menu: <F10> BIOS Settings: <F2>. At that point the computer freezes. There are no beeps or anything. Nothing happens when I press F10 or F2. If any one can guide me through the steps I need to take I would be very thankful.

Try tapping the F8 key at bootup and see if you can go into Safe Mode, then post back.
