Hello,

I have a partition on my hard disk I am
trying to format.

This is what I did:
My computer and right clicked the partition
I want to format.
Selected format and clicked quick format.

After a few seconds I get a message
saying "windows couldn't format"

I have data on the partition. However I
don't need it anymore.

My partition is on a separate hard disk
that is connected to my computer using the
USB.

I don't have any problems browsing the data
on that partition.

Many thanks for any suggestions,

I would suggest you use Disk Management. Start by removing the partition, create a new one and then format it.

How come you kept creating new threads. This is your fourth thread in the last 9 days that relate to the same issue.
