I have a "Tweener" who Innocently Downloaded (and, after a lonnnnnnng talk, I DO believe it was innocent.....I trust my Kid), a few FILES, in one Folder, that are named: "con.*****.JPG"

I'm fairly confident that the "con." prefix is my problem.....//shrug

I have not been able to find any way to delete these Files, I always get an Error:

"
Cannot delete con.*****(2)(1)(1): Cannot find the specified file.
Make sure you specify the correct path and file name.
"

I've found that "CON" is a 'protected' "word" and I don't want to delete any other instances of it, just in this one Folder. (A different Physical Disk from my Active WIN XP Pro Installation).

Does anyone have any idea how I can DELETE/Remove these Files?

I've Computing.net-ed and Googled no end, with no resolution.

ANY clues .......even the 'slightest chance'....... would be MUCH appreciated.

If that doesn't solve it for you try "unlocker" it will allow just about anything to be done to any files.

CON: is a reserved word/name as it represents an input/output device. This means that you can write to it, or read from it like a disk device. CON stands for console and is the monitor and keyboard.
An example of usage is COPY A: CON:

There is no risk that you will delete any of them by trying to delete the file.

Unfortunately, MoveOnBoot didn't do anything to these Files, as described in my original Post.

I mainly intened to explain how and why it was reserved, besides explaining that you cannot "delete" the device :-)
