Dos will not work if it's an NTFS drive. Try 'Unlocker': http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/

I use VirDir this way to delete files or folders that are too long or undeleteable. Click Choose Folder to select file or folder, then click Add. Go to the new drive letter in Windows Explorer, right click on the file or folder to be deleted & click Delete.
