When I try to copy a file from my WinXP machine (NTFS) to my Win98SE machine (FAT32) I get the following message: "Cannot copy (file name): Network acess is denied. Be sure you have the correct Network permissions to perform this operation". I have full admin rights to both machines. What gives?

File system does not matter over network.
Is the 98 drive mapped?

"Is the 98 drive mapped?" No. Just exactly how do I map the network drive?
Software gives me a headache.

Browse the network and look at 'Tools' menu.

Can you open network neighborhood on either system and see the other one, then browse to it and open directories? Did the network copy work before? Has anything changed lately? Instead of a mapping issue it sounds like a problem with the workgroup. Are both systems showing the same workgroup yet? You need stable network access to allow file copy. Do you have the same user accounts and passwords on both? XP is more strict on accounts than 98.

I mapped the network drive on both machines. I can now add files form my XP machine to my 98SE machine. I can access non restricted files on the XP machine from the 98SE machine and do the same. Mapping the network drives was the answer. Thanks guys.
