Laptop internal hard drive crashed. I recovered data to Hitachi drive (used as EXTERNAL drive with case)...then replaced laptop internal drive. Loaded WinXP Pro from original CDs.
When I now try to restore recovered data from Hitachi drive to new laptop internal HD, I consistently get same message....
"Cannot copy (file or folder name appears inside paren's): Cannot find the specified file. Make sure you specify the correct path and file name."
All HDs appear to work fine. Laptop working fine, etc. Simply unable to restore files onto laptop drive "C:" from external drive "F:".Thanks much,

Make sure that the folder exists
You may be giving a wrong name/path
why you simple don`t copy > paste the files ???
our patience is big

Thanks. ***Solution was simple...I took the new Hitachi HD with its new enclosure back to the local retail tech shop that sold it to me. The enclosure's USB adapter was bad. The vendor swapped the bad for a good enclosure. This solved the problem. Minor piece of hardware was bad, nothing more.
Thanks much,
