For some very odd reason, my computer will not connect to the internet. I am using a cable modem which is routed to 2 other computers in my house. They can both conenct to the internet and other applications normally. My computer says that my network card is working properly, and I can connect to the other two on the network. Whenever I try to connect to AIM, Internet Explorer, or anything requiring access, it doesn't work. The 2 diagnostic LED's on my network card say it is fine, and the computer says it is connected. It was working just fine the night before, then the next morning it just didn't work. I got an error message that morning, but didn't write it down. Can anyone offer a solution?

try completely uninstalling your network card drivers then installing them again. Most of the time that works

oddly i stumbled on this issue myself and found out that i had to simply power down the cable modem and let it redetect my network card! Turns out that my service renews about once a month my ip address which i figured but what i also learned was if i switched the main computer hooked up to the modem, the modem would not know the nic card until i powered down and back up after
i fired up the main computer!!

Perhaps your ISP only allows two IP addresses per account?

If you truly have a modem - make sure the workgroup is common to all 'puters.

And make sute the router is configured for more than two 'puters.

Good luck
