I cannot burn my pictures to a CDR in Disk Drive D. It says it is copying but never finishes and there is no files waiting to be burned. If I try to log off it tells me that Windows is currently working with a prog and to close the file. I end up switching the computer off at the plug. It burns music cds fine

First of all, you should never have to pull the plug on your PC. Just hold in the on switch at the front untill your PC powers down, it may take a minute at the most.

Marg, maybe try this on-line scan for spyware
On-line Spyware Scan
and remove any spyware that shows up.
These other programs are free and I would suggest you also run them periodicly

Adaware SE Personal

Spyware Blaster

CWShredder

Spybot S&D

Make sure to up-date it before using it.
1-Check for problems
2-Fix Problems
3-Immunize

That should help to get your PC back on track, as spy and adware have alot of weird effects on PC's.
Good Luck

Be sure to keep your anti-virus up-dated and scan every once in awhile, also a weekly defrag of your hard drive wouldn't hurt either.
These are all ways that I keep my PC running at it's best....hope I've helped you. Please post back if you still have problems after that, thanx

what burning program are you trying to use.

media player has an option to burn,
but I suspest you are just dragging and dropping, so it becomes inportant to know what program you are using, nero, roxio, etc

Hmmmm after reading your post again, you said music burns fine, are you sure you have your burner set for burning a data cd when you're doing the pics?

I've already got N.Antivirus 2005 and Spybot S &D ..uptodate and scanned, so I don't know if there could still be a problem with viruses?

I don't know what burning prog I am using...I assume it's built into my computer with Windows XP. I click on my pictures then "copy all to cd" then I get a small message in top left hand corner of screen which says copy here. I click that and nothing else happens. The computer just jams

Hi, I would suggest to go to start>all programs and select your cd writer and open the program from there. There , depending on your burning software, it should ask you if you'd like to make a data, music or a cdrw.
1-Then pick data. Now you can reduce the size of your burner page and open your folder
(my pictures),
2-go to the edit menu and click on select all. After they have turned dark hold your left click on any one of the pics (notice they all stay a dark color),
3-then drag them over and drop them into your burning program and go from there (that is drag and drop)
4-insert a blank disc in your recorder and press record and follow the directions

Hope that has helped you
