Try these.

1: AdwCleaner
Adware and toolbar remover.
AdwCleaner is a reliable removal tool for adware, toolbar and potentially unwanted programs.
AdwCleaner is a tool that deletes :
· Adwares (software ads)
· PUP/LPI (Potentially Undesirable Program)
· Toolbars
· Hijacker (Hijack of the browser's homepage)
It works with a Search and Deletion method. It can be easily uninstalled using the "Uninstall" mode.
AdwCleaner Search and Delete Adware, PUP, Toolbar and Homepage Hijacker

2: Run SUPERAntiSpyware & if it finds tracking cookies, install Ghostery on all your browsers.

Internet Explorer
Protect your privacy. See who's tracking your web browsing and block them with Ghostery.

Seems fishy! Have you scanned your computer for mal-ware or ad-ware??
Also, check if its the same with Safe mode with networking & Post the results please.
But in the meanwhile, check this article I found online -

Let us know if this fixed the issue or not.

Johnw and FrankieWilson, thank you for your responses. No, I have not installed any sort of Mal-ware product. I did manage, though, to get rid of the cs.infospace nusiance by removing the Yahoo Toolbar. However, my difficulties persist and these I have posted to a new discussion giving more indepth details. The link to that discussion (according to the email I received) is

I did restart in safe mode with networking enabled, but the problems persisted. I have since changed my browser homepage to (part of Yahoo, I believe) which will at least provide a list of websites when I enter something in the search box. However, nothing happens when I click on any of those search results. To get around it, I have to copy and paste the URL given in the results into my browser's address box, but that only works if the URL is complete. I'm about ready to deep-six this computer! But, once again, thanks for your responses.
