help me please!!!!
cannot boot.
goes into welcome screen, asks for password, I input password, tries to log on then simply goes back into welcome screen.
cannot boot in safe mode either.
I have a MAC networked to the pc and can see the pc through the network as well as everything else on the pc.
However, I cannot even find my original xp pro sp2 as I have just moved back to the house, office no longer needed and I am so stuck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Could use a barts/ubcd4win disk to access restore point maybe.

Could use any xp disk to "repair" system maybe.

Might use barts to view event logs to see what is going on.

If you think password is the issue you can remove it with tools.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

thank you.
like i said, i cannot get into the computer other than mounting the drive onto the MAC and accessing the pc that way.
can i download windows xp online, burn a cd, then try and install a new version of xp over the network, or have i completely lost my mind,
and will that remove the virus?

I don't know about using the MAC connection, but ...

Here are a couple of free DOS anti viruses:
