Hey. I recently cannot boot from my hard disk. I get an error stating something similar to what is in the subject.
Is it required to just get a new hard drive and scrap the old one, or is there a way to save all of the information on there and obtain a boot disk?

Download a diagnostic from the hard drive manufacturer's web site. It should tell you if the drive has died. If it passes the test, it might just need a repair of the data on the drive.
Do yourself a favor BACKUP!
