Installed a wireless card, set it up and everything was fine. Installed Mcafee firewall and mistakenly blocked some incoming connections when prompted. The wireless connection is still good at the computer but I cannot access the internet. I uninstalled the firewall and I still cannot connect to the internet. I then uninstalled the software and wireless card. I then reinstalled the wireless card and software and everything was fine until I re booted. Now I'm back to the beginning. I still receive a good wireless signal to the computer but I cannot access the internet. I'm guessing that the firewall changed some settings that have to be manually changed again. Any suggestions on how I can check this or fix it?????

BoatPib,
The best thing you could do in that situation is to contact the wireless vendor and have them walk you through everything. It is the only thing I know of that would save you a lot of aggrevation trying to figure out what was changed in the settings.Sometimes it is the hardware and it just has to be reconfigged to totally different settings. I had that happen to me with a new dlink wireless setup just a few weeks ago. After pulling out what hair i have left trying to install...it was the wireless card and it all had to be re configurered to different settings than as preset.

First thing to check is your INTERNET PROPERTIES in the CONNECTIONS TAB select the LAN Settings TAB under PROXY SERVER if the box is checked and you have numeric entries in Address and Port delete them, then go to Advanced and delete any of the other entries their then uncheck the box and check the box at "Automatically detect settings"
Check Network Connections for any MAC Bridge or bridge connections if you have them disable them.
If non of the above apply try uninstalling the NIC and deleting the connection then set it up again, but only if your comfortable doing this.
