Comment:

I was using my Dell PC to access this website for over 2 years without any problem. Last weekend I was unable to access it with message "IE cannot display this webpage". I am able to access this site with my labtop so this site is not down. Also the Dell PC has no problem accessing other websites. This is the only website that I could not access on this PC. Any suggestion what's wrong and how to fix this problem.

Except...you don't tell us anything relevent.

So..lets see if we can start fresh.

Can you go to www.google.com?

If yes, try your site?

If no, post exact error here:

{insert error message here}

Good luck.

The website www.popularasians.com that I can't access on my old Dell PC. This site has links to download Hong Kong TV series. The first thing I did was clear all internet temp files and cookies. Did not work. Type popularasians on Google and use the homepage link displayed to access this site. Did not work. Message disply by IE "IE cannot display the webpage. Most likely causes... What you can try...". I was able to access this site using my laptop and my other Dell PC.

What version of IE? Can you access it using another profile?

Have you tried using Firefox?

Try this.
We have seen a large number of computers coming in with problems navigation on the Internet. Also unable to go to Windows update and virus update sites. Here is a quick fix that also seems to speed navigation up some.

Just for safety create a copy of the file before making changes.

goto

C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ (Windows XP)

C:\I386 (Windows 2000)

Open the host with notepad.

remove all entries bellow

127.0.0.1 localhost

then save and close.

Same error using other profile.

No entry below 127.0.0.1 localhost on the host file. Just this line.
