i moved my present XP from primary master to secondary (from hda to hdd). because i installed a new disk with linux at primary master.

i couldnt boot XP, although i thought i did necessary things in boot loader file (lilo.conf)

You cannot change the name of a system disk. When you installed XP it was on C drive. It will not run as D,E or anything but C. You will have to format and reinstal XP in it's new location. May also need a third party bootloader as I believe XP is only able to set up dualboot with another windows version.
