Folks,
UseD FIXBOOT to try to get XP booting again on a logical drive partition. As I had posted earlier, it unfortunately converted that drives' FAT from FAT32 to FAT12. PLUS, all the data is now gone (still there, I think...just will not show b/c of wacked FAT).
I started to run SCANDISK (from WIN98)....it said the following:
"This drive contains one or more backup copies of the file allocation table (FAT). The copies should be identical, but aren't."
I did not fix this error...just canceled.
>>CAN I RECOVER THAT BACKUP FAT SOMEHOW and USE IT (replace the new one with it)? I suspect that this may, at least, put the drive back the way it was...so I could just get that data off, at least.
Any help GREATLY appreciated.
THANKS!!
