In Windows Explorer, the second option in the View menu is "Status Bar". How can I make the status bar permanent? (Each time, I open an explorer window, I have to select it.)

Thanks a lot,

Gabor

Turn on the status bar, and then immediately go to Tools, Folder Options, click the View tab, and choose "Like Current Folder". Now you can close Explorer and the bar should be there the next time you open it, as well as any other view settings you made.

Correction, in XP the button you want to click on says "Apply to All Folders".
