I want to help my Mon uninstall the large amount of the unwanted program installed on her computer. But I have no idea which one is much better. So can someone recommend me some?

Windows XP Has it's own uninstaller
Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.
In the Currently installed programs box, click the program that you want to remove, and then click Change or Change/Remove.
Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to make the changes that you want.
As to what you remove that is up to you as I don't know what you use.

Though I don't know which program you want to uninstall, you can have a try with Perfect Uninstaller. To my own experience, it is a program that can uninstall any program, even though it is not in the Add/Remove programs or corrupted. What I recommend it was because it is very easy to use, not only to computer export or idiot. You can go to the link below for some detailed instructions on how to uninstall programs:http://www.uninstalltips.com

So wish you good luck, too!

What sort of programs are you looking for us to recommend? I have some difficulty because you give no indication of what you already have on board or your needs.

I use Revo Uninstaller. Easy, efficient and free.

Best I've seen.

Folks we have a poster who needs direction not software.

Just my opinion but adding any software to this mix is CRAZY and will only complicate things.

Margerate the very LAST thing you ever want to do is willy nilly start uninstalling programs or deleting files. We get way too many posters here with trashed machines because of that approach.

Start with these simple easy to do maintenace routines

1. Go to Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools then go to Disk Cleanup. I check everything except compress old files. Then click OK to start disk cleanup.

2. Go the the same place and run Disk Defragmenter. If this machine has not been defragged recently it will take some time to complete. Be patient and let it complete.

Now that you have done some routine maintenance [should be done minimally once a month] let's talk about programs.

You need to list what programs you are not using. Look at All Programs and write down what you see. Talk to your Mom about what is used and what is not.

Once you have decided on what needs to go start by going to All Programs and the program listed to see if it has an uninstall there. If it does run it. If it does not go to add/remove programs and remove it there.

Once you have removed unwanted programs run disk cleanup and defrag again.

At some point we need to talk about Antivirus and Anti spyware but that can be a topic for another day.

I agree with wanderer rn#5.

Make a list of all installed programs.
If you want to post a list of programs you want to uninstall here I am sure people would be more than happy to tell you if they are safe to uninstall or if you should keep them.

Deleting the wrong program can leave your system in trouble.

So make a list of what you want to get rid of and get a second opinion here.

Thanks, all here. I used the Perfect Uninstaller and easily uninstalled what I wanted to from my Mon's computer. And everything is running Ok now. Thank for your kindness, Aastha!

Wanderer directed you to the best possible direction. But you still used the Aastha way. Anyways it's good you solved the issue.
