I was kinda stupid and waited with installing a virus prog after a Win reinstall.. But anyway, after that I installed NAV 2002 and it found a Backdoor Trojan in this file: c:\windows\system32\ShellEx.exe
Don't like the fact that it's in the windows dir, but does anyone know if this file is needed or is it something that I've "got" somehow?

From what i could find that file is a popular target for trojans but some anti virus progams can send up a false detection.
if NAV cant do anything about it there are few things you can try. a different anti virus program is one. or you could try the XP repair cd. you can also try moving the file to a different area yourself (essentialy what quaranine does) but have a dos boot disk at the ready in case it causes a fault so you can copy it back (not reccomended).
you should also get a firewall so that you can block any attempts by a trojan to send out.
