If you have the originial installation disk from either your purchase of WinXP retail or the OEM version of WindowsXP that came with your PC you can try and run the System File Checker !> If one needs to repair a file using Windows XP's "sfc /scannow" [ start > run > type:sfc /scannow ] tool, one often needs the CD. Run disk Clean Up and Defrag in safe mode, then Open run command and type in: sfc /scannow click [OK] Note the space between sfc_/ Then Open a run command and re-register these DLLs: regsvr32 Mshtml.dll regsvr32 Urlmon.dll regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll regsvr32 Msjava.dll regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll regsvr32 Browseui.dll regsvr32 Shell32.dll Iam not sure this will repair your problem ,however its worth a try and its something I run about once every couple of months !
