Can not restore Windows XP

First I got an error message evertime I tried to use AD Aware. Uninstall on AD Aware also has gets error. I tried to restore from several different points and it always comes back that unable to restore and my computer is returned to original settings. Checked for virus and trojans and cannot find anything. MS site not much help either

I read that before I posted and my condition is very much like the original poster but all the links do not cover that exact problem. I thought someone may have the answer by now.

I had the same problem & the only way I was able to get System Restore working again was to disable it, reboot, & then enable it. You will lose all restore points, but it should work.

That last sugestion worked now I will have to wait a few days and see if it will restore after a week of new restore points
