I just upgraded from Me to XP Pro.
Everything has been working fine but my scanner.
I tried to install the old drivers [wich worked in 98 se, Me] from the scanner cd, but i gives me the legend:
"It can not be run in this op. sys."
I already went to the hp website, and there is a patch but i just can not install it i won't let me do it.
The thing is i want to know if someone else has had the same problem, and how to solve it [if there's a way to....]
I'd really appreciate any comment or suggestion.
Thanks......!!!!!

Download win2000 drivers.
Boot up, run regedit, go to local machine and change product name from winXP to win2000.
install win2000 drivers...when it comes up that they are not digitally signed, click on continue with install.
DO NOT REBOOT YET.
Run regedit and change win2000 back to winxp.......reboot PC.
Go to hardware/device manager and right click on the yellow exclamation mark next to the scanner. choose update driver, and let the machine find the drivers....VOILA....IT WORKS.Please e-mail me and confirm this.....
Hugh.

I have this scanner also, it works without the driver installed, all you need is the HP Scanning software, get the Windows 2000 version, no need to get the XP update.
In Device Manager your scanner will be listed under other devices (with a wierd name).
