Can not install Ethernet Card

Win XP see the ethernet card but fails to install the driver. I tried with 2 diffrent cards the result is same. The message: Can not load hardware. An error occured during the installation of the device. The data is invalid.
I tried in 2 diffrent PCI slots but...
(the first ethernet card is an US robotics 7900 10/100Mbits with installation CD plus I have downloaded the latest driver. and the other is an Cnet ethernet card)

I recomend using a linksys ethernet card. I have one never have any problems with it. I've seen those Cnet cards and they look like junk.

Have a look in Device Manager, and delete any instances of the network adaptors (cards) you've tried to install. Also delete any rubbish under "Other Devices" - usually they'll have a yellow error marker against them. Reboot and try again. It's possible it's an IRQ problem, especially with older cards - if still no joy, come back here.
