Hi,
Do a Google search for a program called 'move on boot'. Go to the sight and download it, then right click the icon and use the move on boot program to rid your machine of it.

AMD Athlonxp 3200+ OC
Asus A7N8x-deluxe-E
ATI AIW 9600pro
2x WD SATA raptors/raid0
Corsair XMS3200

48x Lite-on CDRW
Aspire Super Alien Case

I had this problem once with windows nt4 server but it was a corrupt file system issue as doing a restart of the server released the file and let me delete it.
Id go with Tony for this one or try booting into safe mode on the machine that has the desktop on and try that way.

1 > u can try to boot in safe mode and delete. if that do'nt work ,
2 > then try changing the file name and restart yr computer, then delete .
3 > even that do'nt work , then type "dir /x" in dos mode. list of shortened file names appear.
4 > note down the short name of that particular file and delete it with the command "delete" .
5 > if even that do'nt work , know the name of the application , for which the folder is linked. remove the application from the add/remove programs. now delete the folder.Ravi Vamshi(Vamshi)
