Can not cut/paste

It's simple really. When I copy and paste, and the ">" character is in the body of the text, the ">" character never comes out. I am using XP Pro and the problem is on all applications..Word..text files..etc. My biggest problem is that I do a great deal of HTML and spend hours each week replacing ">" characters that were removed when I copy and pasted a body of script. :-( Any suggestions? Solved.
A program called eFlter, used for filtering out all those "/\|" in front of text lines of email that have been sent over and over (http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Email_Tools/Misc__Mail_Tools/eFilter.html)conflicts with XP Pro and MS Natural Keyboard. This problem causes the complete removal of the ">" in anything that is cut and pasted.
If you want to install and use eFilter, ensure you back up your system files first.
