can not connect to remote desktop

hi Guys, all of a sudden my remotedesktop is not working xp sp2 computer. It is giving regular message" client could not connect remtoe desktop"......."I tried to telnet 3389, and it also does not listen. and I have done the following torubleshooting.
-I made sure firewall is off. -tried changing remote desktop port, but still same. -I made sure "allow user to connect remotely" is checked. -I have done full scan for virus/spyware. -how can I make the port listening or in other word, get it working. thanks in advance.

Are you sure the Remote Desktop is powered on? Have you checked to see if the Terminal Service Service is started on the remote machine

Hi there, i presume you are trying to connect to a serv03 or xppe terminal service host (you cant do ts hosting on xphe)
-I made sure firewall is off. make sure on -I made sure "allow user to connect remotely" is checked
check the server as well. check you are on same IP subnet. check port isnt being used - and that when you connect you use a port identifier (eg. 10.2.1.5:PORT) check you are binding to the right IP (for multi-ip servers)

Hi Jayman, I am trying to connect to a xp machine from a xp and server2003. It was working but stopped working all of a sudden. I can not telnet 3389 to that computer. Tried changing the RDP port also. But does not work.
I can do everything from that computer except cannot connect to it remotely.

Thanks, yes terminal services is Auto. Wondering is their anything I could do;just reinstall the remotedesktop or anything i can do to avoid reinstalling the operating system to resolve this.

Is this a home network or are you trying to access XP Pro computer at work from home? Reason why I ask, is it possible that a router was changed or something to block ports.

Thanks Domas, this is at work. But I can not even connect locally. Probably I will just need wipeout and reinstall it back.
