I want to send the files off a dvd from a computer with a dvd-rom to another computer that doesn't have one. It is a large file. Is this possible? Thanks.

Sure, if the computer you are sending it to has room to store it, such as Hard Drive, or other storage media.

The same way you would on any network wired or not, map to the drive you want to send it to and copy and paste.

It is possible but probably extreamly slow. Just setup a small home network or if both have a wireless card as a Ad-Hock mode. This link describes what a ad-hock is but as far as creating on knowoing the manufactur of your wirless cards would make it simpler to explain.

On the DVD drive computer, you copy and paste file to the Shared Network folder of the other computer.

Or you could right click the DVD drive,
then "Sharing and Security"
then click "If you understand the risk, but still want to share the root of the drive, click
here"

I think that will put the drive into "My Network Places"

On the comptuer that has the dvd drive..

Share the drive..
Make sure both compuers are on the same workgroup.

Now the other comptuer can go into the network and should see the dvd drive.. They can then use the drive or copy from it.

Junk Internet Explorer,
Get Firefox! You'll be happy you did.
