How can i put a speedtouch330 usb modem on standby. Is there a program or something that could pause the connection for a bit then let it resume without having to reconnect the connection.
I have broadband but it still dials up to the internet. I want to be able to pause the connection. Is this possible??
Please reply

I don't know what you mean by "pause."
If you're dialing up your Broadband connection, the protocol is PPPoE.
You can connect or disconnect at will by right-clicking on a LAN icon on your taskbar. That's about as "standby" as you can be.
If you didn't receive a User's Manual with the modem, or haven't already downloaded one, here's where you need to go.

i know how to use the modem. I want to know if there is a way to pause the connection rather than disconnect then connect.
Some modems have buttons which put the modem on standby but my modem doesnt. I wondered if there was a program which could do this( maybe stop data going into and out the modem )anyone understand what i mean???

well i think i know what you mean you cant.
however i will contradict myself immediately YOU CAN. download a firewall software one that is.
zonealarm
kerio
etc
and when your away and want nothing going through engage the internet lock function it will block all traffic effectively putting your connection on pause.
this is the only way i can think of let me know if this is what you wantAthlon xp 2500+ @2.17
