Can I combine my two local disks?

My computer has local disk c(4gb) and local disk d(6gb) after installing windows xp into c: only have 800mb of free space however c: gets full very easy even though I install most of the software in d:. Can I combine the disks so they work as one disk? and how if it's possible. Please HELP!!
