On my Windows XP I can access web sites okay but when I want to for e.g. order online or fill out a form I get'the page cannot be displayed ' message. Thanks

If you're using FireFox with the "NoScripts" extension, then you have to give permission for the website to accept your data input.

Not sure about IE though.

Lessons learnt the hard way are not easily forgotten.

Yes this happens on all websites. I have an important form to fill out for my daughters' Uni but it wont display the form. No I dont have Firefox only IE. Sorry I'm a bit of a novice with these things.

check requirements of version and plugins for site,are up to date
check internet options, security settings,
empty temp folder and temporary internet files folder,
scan for adware/spyware,

also may try repair/reinstall browser if needed,

You might need to activate Active X settings (ouch!) or some sites need you to activate cookies.

I'd recommend trying Firefox. download here

But you should also follow all the other recommendations regarding temp files, viruses, and spyware.

Yes you will still have IE. Most order forms use SSL for added security. Make sure you have SSL enabled.

What is the error message at the bottom of the 404 page?
