This used to work. Now when I attach the camera to a USB port a beep is heard but the camera does not appear in My Computer. Another beep when I disconnect. Why?
Camera is turned ON.
The camera is a Kodak EasyShare C360.
It does appear in Device Manager and when I disconnect it disappears from Device Manager as expected. I even rebooted the computer with the camera attached and turned on. NOT IN MY COMPUTER BUT IN DEVICE MANAGER.William Lockie

Some cameras don't show up in My Computer, so it all depends on what camera you have. It's the same for camcorders.... I have 2 HDV camcorders and they both show up as "AV/C device" in device manager but they don't show up in My Computer.
Your software is either not funtioning correctly as SABERTOOTH points out... or your cam just simply does not show up by default in My Computer (I am not sure how your cam is designed). Either way, you SHOULD be able to get to the cam when you open your photo edit program (which ever one you're using)and attempt to import your photos

For what it's worth, my daughter's Kodak EasyShare C3xx camera no longer shows up in her system's My Computer, but it still does on mine. I am not running the Kodak Easy Share software on my system, but she is.
If you Google the issue, you will see that others have had the same problem - used to show up, doesn't any more. Unfortunately, all I have found is people posting about the problem, but no solutions offered.
I haven't gotten around to reinstalling her software, but I may try that soon.

Just reformatted the internal and external memories. Didn't help tho.
Set up the software to one-step transfer and that works fine.
Still bugged because no camera in My Computer.William Lockie
