I have a Canon digital SLR connected to PC by firewire. I installed Canon's software on my laptop fine. However, I have a problem with my PC. When I switch on the camera it is sometimes seen by the PC, sometimes not! When it is seen by the PC I have a yellow exclamation mark against it in Device Manager (Code 10). I have also had Code 43 saying no drivers installed for this device. I have uninstalled the device and then reinstalled all software, but the problem persists. I have spoken to Canon and they have tried everything, but to no avail. I have plugged my video into the firewire card and it works fine and the camera works fine on my laptop. Any ideas anyone - PLEASE?
