I have just got a s-video cable to watch movies on my tv from my computer...however I am getting distortion on the picture. I guess that it could be signal loss, if it is, is there a way to boost the signal maybe..? (I come to this conclustion be cause I have a shorter cable and the picture was perfect.)any ideas?

Just a guess....probably a bad cable, or badly shielded cable.
I would think it is a bad shield causing the video distortion.
