.CAB files fraudulently corrupted.

I recently installed Windows XP Pro and had no problem with it for about a week; then I tried to install Baldur's Gate II and it told me that certain files didn't match those in the .CAB file.
It installed perfectly on my other drive, so I switched back and re-installed it on Windows 98... Perfect, not a hitch.
Since then I've installed Service Packs and such, but .CAB files are regarded as 'corrupt'. I thought Service Pack 1 would fix this, but that doesn't install either.. I think that may be based around a .CAB file too, as it's rather a sizable installation.
Summary: Usually when a cab file is corrupted there is no way around it. Did you download this cab file? If so, you will need to redownload it again. If it's a damaged windows cab file, you should have a go...
