when i attempt to switch usernames while on another name i get fatal system error c0000021a its a blue screen taht comes up with a message the the computers shut down..... any way to fix it

Try System File Checker:
Open the Command Prompt, then type:

sfc /scannow

note space between the c and /
Have XP CD in your drive.

i lost my xp disk and i also tried to download the service pack 2 it didnt work any other ideas

Also do you check check for Spyware ???
Spyware info.from Microsoft

Maybe check for, and remove SpyWare.
Here
