I was able to locate the System Volume Information folder but it was empty (or so the windows explorer said) When right clicked the (Empty) folder was not able to be opened manually. Zone Alarm keeps finding Trogen problems in this folder any ideas how to fix this issue with reinstalling the OS?

Right click the folder, select properties. If the folder is 0 bytes it's empty and System Restore is disabled. Do you have your system set to display Hiddn folders?
Control Panel>Folder Options>view tab.
There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.

In Windows Explorer click [Tools] [Folder Options] Click the [View] tab, click [Show Hidden Files and Folders] Clear [Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)] check box. Click [Yes] on the change confirmation box and click [OK] to exit.
