Hey sup yall. I have a little problem with my c: drive. I am running XP Pro. I had this kind of problem earlier and it deals with the system restore. So when it happened again, thinking that i was able to get my space back, i turned off system restore cuz i never use it. Looked at my c: in explorer and nothing happened. My c: is 4.8 ghz but it only has 784 mgz free. When i viewed all the files including hidden files and the file in the system restore in c:, it shows me 4.6ghz or something. So obviously something is using my space, but i have no idea where it is. and dont say recycle bin cuz im not a moron. I am a+ certified but only 16 so still a newbie

thx for all your help =)

Go to Control Panel>Performance and Manitenance>Free up Space on Your Hard Drive
(wait ...theres more)

Select the C: drive, then click on the More Options tab...

(tired yet?)

toward the bottom, (next to System Restore) click Clean Up

click YES and then OK

That should do it.

Oh yeah...

Do this for all partitions present.

This will remove system restore information from ALL partitions.

4.6 GB is pretty small for XP. Especiially if you have WinXP and MS office installed.

You will always run into space problems like this. What RichGu has said will help but only temporarily.

You should consider replacing the C: hard drive with (or adding) a new larger capacity hard drive. They are pretty cheap these days.
